The First Generation Faculty Initiative hosts twice yearly lunch workshops in fall and spring quarter. These meetings feature short lectures and presentations by scholars/experts on topics of importance to first-generation students; information sessions led by representatives of campus Student Support Service offices/organizations; or other relevant training sessions on how to best advocate for first-generation students. Meetings also provide faculty members with opportunities for discussion and networking.

Next Workshop 1: October 19th, University Club Library, 12pm:

De Gallow, Executive Director for Instructional Development in the Center for Engaged Instruction, will provide hands-on training for faculty who are teaching and serving first-generation students on Wednesday, October 19th at 12 pm in the University Club Library.
